This film from the arterial phase of a superior mesenteric arteriogram demonstrates the typical angiographic appearance of a carcinoid tumour which has invaded the mesentery. Invasion results in thickening and foreshortening of the mesentery. The arteries become very tortuous and are drawn into a characteristic stellate pattern. Arterial narrowing distal to the tumour frequently occurs.
